Rabia@actionforraceequality.org.uk
Rabia brings nearly ten years’ experience in the charity sector, with a background in anti-racist policy work, strategic communications, and community-led campaigning.
She is no stranger to ARE, having previously worked on the EQUAL project, which tackled the overrepresentation of Black and Muslim men in the criminal justice system, supporting the implementation of the Young Review and Lammy Review recommendations.
Previously, she led the Supporting Minority Muslims campaign at British Muslims for Secular Democracy, amplifying the voices of minoritised communities. For nearly four years, Rabia managed Stronger Voices at Media Trust, a strategic communications programme supporting equalities-focused charities.
Recently completing her Postgraduate Diploma in Law with Distinction, she now volunteers as a caseworker at the Free Representation Unit, providing legal support for vulnerable individuals in social security tribunals, and is a trustee of Hidayah LGBTQIA+, a Queer Muslim charity.
