William is ARE’s PR & Communications Officer. He joined ARE in September 2024 as the organisation’s first PR and Communications Apprentice. After 18 months, he successfully completed his Level 4 Public Relations and Communications Assistant apprenticeship and progressed into his current role.
Since joining, William has delivered communications across the organisation’s programmes, policy work and campaigns. He produces content for ARE’s website and social media channels, supports media and campaign activity, and helps translate complex work into clear and accessible stories for different audiences.
He has a background in journalism and previously wrote for The River, Kingston University’s student-led publication, where he covered Black history, culture and issues affecting students. He is particularly interested in using communications to amplify underrepresented voices and make racial justice work accessible to wider audiences.
