About the role
The Routes2Success (R2S) Project Development and Engagement Officer is responsible for coordinating and delivering key elements of the R2S programme. The role leads on the recruitment, onboarding, and support of volunteer role models and mentors, and the delivery of Race Equality Action Projects (REAPs). The post-holder will work closely with project partners and participants to ensure activities are well-organised, group mentoring sessions are effectively facilitated, and project objectives are delivered to a high standard.
Key tasks and responsibilities includes:
- Updating the role model database (Excel)
- Attending and co-facilitating group in-person mentoring sessions
- Supporting with role model recruitment and training events
- Updating project documentation/paperwork with current funder logos
- Assisting with planning role model events
- Creating packs/resources for events
- Inputting data using Upshot
- General admin duties
For this role, some evening working may be required and travel across London.
Time off in lieu (TOIL) will be provided in line with our organisational policy.
Person Specification
Qualifications:
- Educated to GCSE (including GCSE English and Maths) and A level (or Level 3 equivalent).
- Relevant youth work vocational qualification (desirable)
- Relevant project management qualification (desirable)
Experience:
- Experience of working on youth projects as part of a team
- Experience of delivering objectives and targets to agreed timescales
- Experience of direct work with the public and external stakeholders
- Experience of working with young people from diverse communities
- Experience in designing, setting up and implementing successful projects
- Successful track record of working in the youth sector (desirable)
- Experience of working in a school setting (desirable)
- Experience in audit and quality assurance processes (desirable)
- Experience of using social media to promote projects (desirable)
Knowledge:
- Proven ability to manage, process and use information effectively
- Strong commitment to race equality, diversity and youth empowerment
- Knowledge and experience of using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems (desirable)
Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with young people, including strong listening skills
- Good interpersonal skills, including being courteous and tactful
- Strong networking skills and ability to build productive working relationships with a wide range of individuals and organisations
- Ability to manage workload and paperwork efficiently
- Ability to work accurately with attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise, plan and manage workload to meet tight deadlines
- Self-motivated, able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Ability to think logically, clearly and creatively, with strong problem-solving skills
- Good social media and website content creation skills
- Competent use of standard office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other relevant packages
Remuneration
Salary: £27,000 per annum
Contract length: 12 months fixed term, initially
Hours: 35 hours per week (full-time) Hybrid – 3 days in our King’s Cross office
Reports to: Head of Education & Youth Programmes
