Innovating Employability Support

The Global Majority Fund will pilot the use of new, technology-led approaches to job searching, skills development and employability support, recognising that traditional methods no longer match how young people engage with work opportunities.

Through a series of small grants, ARE will help partners pilot innovative digital tools and models that better reflect the way young people use technology in their daily lives.

Who we’re Supporting

The programme will provide grants to five organisations and five entrepreneurs working to improve employability outcomes for Black, Asian and Mixed-heritage young people.

Funding ranges from up to £10,000 for entrepreneurs to up to £40,000 for organisations, with a focus on supporting young people with intersecting identities, including Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), neurodiversity, those at risk of exclusion, and care-experienced young people.

Learning and Shared Practice

Throughout the year, the programme will bring all grant holders together for a series of learning sessions focused on sharing best practice, exploring challenges, and strengthening approaches to employability and entrepreneurship. These sessions will create space for partners to showcase their innovations, reflect on what is working, troubleshoot barriers, and build connections that support long-term collaboration.

Approaches and tools that have delivered positive results

Common challenges and strategies for overcoming them

Peer support and network-building across organisations and entrepreneurs

Emerging trends, digital solutions, and future opportunities in employability support

Insights from the programme will be shared with the wider employability sector to improve how young people from Global Majority backgrounds are supported into work.

We’re excited about the positive impact ARE’s funding will have on our work with young people, helping them build strong online portfolios and personal brands that support their journey into employment
