Senior Lecturer in Criminology, University of Suffolk
Paul is currently a Senior Lecturer in Criminology at the University of Suffolk. He has more than 25 years of experience of working in the criminal justice field across the statutory, voluntary, and private sectors, and has conducted research into local drug and sex markets, and street gangs in three regions. He was previously the Director of Communities for the youth leadership charity Brathay, and Managing Consultant for Matrix Knowledge where he conducted policy research on behalf of the Home Office. He later became the Head of the Criminal Defence Service, CJS Projects at the Legal Services Commission.
For 14 years Paul held a voluntary position as the Vice-Chair of the Lambeth Community Police Consultative Group which was initiated after Lord Scarman’s Report following the Brixton riots.
