Nails by Henrii is a mobile nail salon that offers acrylic and gel nails, and manicures with the added comfort of being at home.
Before joining the Inclusive Entrepreneurship Programme, Henrietta had already constituted her business and had started trying to reach out to potential clients. However, she already noticed certain barriers that she would need support in overcoming to be able to maintain a substantial and consistent client base, especially with marketing and social media presence.
Henrietta initially only applied for a very small amount of funding, which the assessment panel felt wouldn’t be enough to make a real impact on her business. Having a consultancy session on business planning and financials before receiving the grant was key in helping Henrietta realise what resources she would need and a more realistic costing of things, resulting in her being awarded a higher funding amount that was far more beneficial. This allowed her to buy more essential equipment and materials, insurance and market her business more widely.
Over the course of the programme, Henrietta participated in all available activities, including presenting an Action Learning Set on ‘how to convert a social media audience into clientele’ which she found enabled her to understand what she had previously overlooked in her social media.
