
Senior Research Fellow
Anthony Heath is currently a senior research fellow at Nuffield College, where he runs the Centre for Social Investigation. He is also Emeritus Professor of Sociology at the University of Oxford. Anthony’s main research interests have focussed on social stratification and mobility, racial discrimination, ethnic inequalities in the labour market, and social integration. He is currently working with the Social Mobility Commission exploring which local authorities across the UK have particularly high or low levels of social mobility, and why. He is also leading an international team reseasrching attitudes towards refugees and labour migrants across Europe for the European Social Survey. Anthony is a member of the National Statistician’s Inclusive Data Advisory Committee.
