We are delighted to announce Meka Beresford has been appointed as new Head of Policy at Action for Race Equality. This is a new position that will oversee policy outputs across our three key activity areas: education, criminal justice and employment.
Introducing Meka…
For a number of years, Meka has worked closely with people impacted by crime and the criminal justice system to develop and implement practical policy change.
Prior to joining ARE, Meka oversaw public affairs, policy, and research for a Restorative Justice charity, during which time she completed a MA degree in Public Policy at King’s College London, focussing on racial profiling within policing.
Meka became interested in improving the experiences of people interacting with the criminal justice system whilst working with survivors of sexual violence. Meka’s background is in journalism, having covered rights-based issues for a number of publications.
We welcome Meka to the team!
If you’d like to get in touch to say hello, or partner with us on policy activities and/or campaigns, please email Meka.
