Sira is the Development Officer for the Alliance for Police Accountability project, which aims to develop community-police relationships through community-oriented policing.
Before starting at ARE, she completed her Masters in Inequalities and Social Science at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her academic research experience focuses on government repression and violence, minority and left-wing social movements, and privatisation.
Sira also currently works at Minority Rights Group as the Intersectional Discrimination Project Officer, working with disability partners on international advocacy work. She also works as a Paralegal/ Research Fellow for the Center for Protest Rights and Litigation/ Partnership for Civil Justice Fund, focusing on repression of Indigenous and Black movements like Stop Line 3 and Black Lives Matter in the United States.
She is excited to contribute to this radical reimagining of UK policing.
