Before joining ARE, Freya worked as a programme leader on Islington Giving’s Young Grant Maker Programme after having been a young person on the panel herself. Freya graduated from Queen Mary University of London with a degree in English and Drama which had a large focus on social issues. Throughout the course of her degree, she found herself increasingly interested and immersed in modules exploring critical race theory – this increased her desire to advocate for race equality.
Freya has a background in working with and around young people, and is passionate about amplifying the voices of young people and ensuring these voices are heard and our next generation receive the support they need to be the best that they can be. She is passionate about inclusivity, having been involved with inclusive organisations since she was a child and continues to do so. She hopes and believes the world can be a better place and that the bridge to racial inequality can one day be finally crossed.
