Paid opportunity for young people

Are you looking for a new opportunity in 2025? Want to do something meaningful while gaining new skills?

We’re thrilled to be recruiting passionate young people to join our Youth Action Network (YAN). This is our dedicated youth panel for 16 – 24 year olds from Black, Asian, Mixed heritage and minority ethnic backgrounds interested in shaping ARE’s work.

This expansion follows on from a successful year and a half of working closely with a dedicated group of Youth Action Network members from across England, as part of our commitment to improve youth employment outcomes and address race disparities in employability services.

Take Action

No experience is necessary for the role, but we are looking for young people who are keen to input their thoughts when asked for feedback, and to contribute to discussions and meetings.

A passion for improving the lives of Black, Asian and Mixed heritage young people is desirable, and those interested in joining should be willing to share their ideas and experiences.

As a Youth Action Network member, you’ll be likely to:
  • Attend monthly meetings with other YAN members. These will be premised mainly around employment, politics and race.
  • Attend conferences and events related to the work of the YAN
  • Write blogs for the ARE website
  • Take part in podcast discussions

This is a paid position based on the levels of your engagement. You will be paid London Living Wage (currently £13.85) for any sessions you attend.
