Action for Race Equality

Islington Business Resilience Programme launches

Action for Race Equality is offering £2k for Islington small businesses to boost their resilience.

Action for Race Equality (ARE), in partnership with Islington Council, is thrilled to be investing in the next generation of local business leaders. If you are a dedicated entrepreneur, looking to future-proof your businesses and take your venture to the next level, we want to hear from you!

This new business support programme will engage 40 businesses in the borough, with a focus on ‘everyday’ businesses in Islington such as hospitality and retail.

We’re now looking for leaders who have a growth-mindset and are ready to participate in a bespoke learning programme with experienced business consultants.

**Application deadline now extended until noon on Friday the 6th September**

Councillor Santiago Bell-Bradford, Executive Member for Inclusive Economy, Culture, and Jobs said:

Small businesses are the lifeblood of Islington’s local economy and as a council we want to ensure that these businesses have the best possible chance of survival and success. However, we know that the past few years have been a particularly tough climate for smaller businesses and there are many who need bespoke specialist support to work through those setbacks and position themselves for growth, development, and prosperity.

Islington Council and Action for Race Equality both share a commitment to building a thriving local economy. We look forward to continuing this partnership to support local businesses to adapt to the changing economic landscape and overcome barriers to growth.”

Tutu Adebiyi, CMgr FCMI, Action for Race Equality Associate and Programme Lead, said:

I am delighted and humbled by the opportunity to lead this exciting partnership between ARE and Islington Council and provide expert business support to diverse micro and small businesses. We hope to positively impact the resilience of these businesses to improve their sustainability for the future”.
