Action for Race Equality (ARE) is delighted to have partnered with the Communities Empowerment Network (CEN), through the Parents Empowering Parents (PEP) Programme to bring you the Empowering Parents Conference 2022.
The conference will be held at Coram in Bloomsbury on Saturday 12th November 2022, 10am – 3pm and invites parents, young people, school leaders, and all those interested in improving the education of young people to engage in a day of discussion and interactivity.
The conference seeks to demonstrate how vital it is to ensure good collaborative practice between schools, parents, and children, and how this can reduce the number of students excluded.
The event features a panel discussion with key figures in the field, including CEN Chair and Co-Founder Professor Gus John, as well as group activities and opportunities for attendees to contribute and network with passionate and like-minded people.
But we believe that an included parent is an empowered parent.
Communities Empowerment Network
One of the core values at CEN is that parents should be included as equal partners in all decisions pertaining to their child’s education. This is crucial in ensuring that young people receive their entitlement to an appropriate, enlightened, and well-rounded education. As such, the conference will unify, upskill, and empower parents in taking proactive steps towards engaging with their child’s school.
Tickets are limited. Booking is essential to secure your place.
Make your voice heard
Ahead of the conference, we are keen to understand the experiences and insights of parents, young people, and teachers in relation to parental engagement in education.
