We are delighted to announce that Maithreyi Rajeshkumar has joined Action for Race Equality as EQUAL’s Head of Policy. We extend a warm welcome to Maithreyi, who will now be steering our policy work in criminal justice.
Previously at Agenda Alliance, Maithreyi has worked and campaigned for over 15 years on gender equality, racial justice, criminal justice, mental health and influenced policy at a local and national level.
With a background in policy, communications, campaigning, research, youth engagement and fundraising, she also has been an Editor of a two-volume book on war and conflict. She is particularly interested in building power amongst people with lived experience of injustice to campaign for social justice.
Maithreyi joins EQUAL at an exciting time of policy change in criminal justice. We look forward to continuing to address racial disparity across our priority areas with our advisory group members, and working collaboratively with other voluntary and community organisations.
